no it aint, driving higher framerates also requires more cpu power, i personally perfer higher res like 1440p 60hz than 1080p @144hz. with a higher res i can have bigger monitors and still have a crisp image, 1080p doesnt really look that nice anymore once you go over 24" imo. My brother has a 1080p 144hz gsync panel and there are barrely any games that would constantly run at 144fps or more fps with an oc'd i5 and gtx 1080. AM happy with my AOC 1440p panel. ALso if its worth obviously depends on the models, but gsync makes every monitor so much more expensive to the point where I'd just get a a higher res panel or maybe a cheap used 120hz monitor that were available back when gsync wasnt  thing

just go on amazon and see which monitor with the specs 1440p/WQHD, 60hz, Displayport or HDMI, latency 5ms or less then if you found one with a ´good price look for some reviews online and see how many people had problems with it

but i wouldnt pay more than 250€ for one also makes sure you get a nice screen size with that resolution, like 27" would probably be the sweet spot

i dont think they make the resfresh rate monitors anymore mostly, if then its probably 1080p, get one  if its a good deal and you can find one for 1440.

https://www.amazon.de/AOC-Q2778VQE-Monitor-DisplayPort-Reaktionszeit/dp/B00U2ZZX5A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504900665&sr=8-1&keywords=wqhd+27+zoll+aoc

this monitor is probably good for the price. I also have a AOC 1440p panel that i got for 300€ new 1 1/2 years that runs really well and was the cheapest i could find on amazon that was within the spec range i wanted so that one should also be good
