I plan this build to be good enough for 3 years until Zen 3 or ddr5 comes out. I already have the RMx 650 PSU and the ZOTAC AMP! GTX 1060 6gb

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BnMb3F

Planned clocks per year with the Wraith Cooler.

2017 @3.2 Ghz

2018 @3.4 Ghz

2019 @3.6 Ghz

2020 New PC DDR5

Suggestions are welcome.

why slightly raise the clock speed each year? just overclock to the highest you can now and be done with it.

I would try to get 16gb ram, otherwise looks ok.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I see. Will overclocking at 3.8Ghz with the wraith cooler be good?

it'll be fine for 3.8ghz.

Probably because it is better than DDR4.

Yes, but I wouldn't wait on a build for the chance that DDR5 won't be a bajillion dollars and will actually have a reasonable use in your PC.
