Hi everyone.

I am planning to overclock my CPU (i5 7600K) but I don't know where to start. My motherboard is a Z270 msi gaming pro carbon and my cooler cryorig H7.

First is my question: what are the benefits of overclocking my CPU? I know it will be faster but what will I notice? Less CPU usage, better FPS, faster loading screens etc...

My second question is: where do I start? What is the best way for me to start overclocking? Where do I need to keep an eye on etc...

I know hardly anything about overclocking (it's my first time) so every tip will be appreciated!

Thanks :D

In my opinion, overclocking is just fun on it's own, messing around and try to get system stable while at it.

Sure you'll get more fps like 1-4%

Have you been into the Bios on your motherboard?

Read this.

Use Hardware monitor to check CPU temps after you apply the OC and test it using a stress test to make sure it's stable.  Good luck.

Thanks! Which stress test do you recommend?

@TheGlenlivet & @Sharif

Another question: will it void the warranty? Also if it has nothing to do with that I overclocked it?

I wouldn't stress over it.  If you do it really wrong, your system won't boot.  If you do it a little wrong it will crash during stress testing and you will back of the overclock or up the voltage.  Read the how to I linked.  It LITERALLY shows you everything you need to do.

You might be a little worried on the first few crashes and instability signs, it's normal
