I'd say the motherboard will have less of a performance factor than the cpu itself. Silicon lottery is the biggest factor in how much overclocking you can push out of it. Just pick a motherboard that is z270 (capable for overclocking). From there just choose what you like whether its the color scheme or the amount of usb 3 ports, etc...
