Storage Upgrade

CHEESYnachoMAN4

I currently have a 2tb hdd and a 120gb ssd. I am running out of storage on my hdd (because I like to have all my games installed) and its time for me to upgrade.

But I was stuck on if I should get a 4tb hdd to replace my current hdd which is very loud or should I get a 500gb ssd.

the ssd I have in mind is a samsung 850 evo

and the hdd I have in mind is a seagate Baracuda pro

So should I get a hdd to replace my loud old one which is a little slow or add a ssd to my system but keep my hdd

Thanks In Advance

With how inexpensive HDDs are now I would go ahead and replace the drive. Especially if it is loud and running slow. Sound like it is at the end of it's life

Assuming you are running out of storage on your current HDD and not the SSD I would upgrade the HDD. While an SSD is obviously faster the price does not warrant the need you have for it. For games, it is far more cost effective to use an HDD which only really hurts loading times.

Thanks for considering Seagate! As others have mentioned, the HDD is a good direction to go here. The BarraCuda Pro would definitely be a good fit. 5 year warranty, 24x7 rating, up to 300TB per year workload rating, 2 years free Rescue Services.
