What can this build do ?

Go to solution Solved by jaysangwan32,

Unless you need to squeeze every last frame out of an e-sports title, go with an R7 1700 or R5 1600. That way, you can afford to add a 1080 (and without the NVME drive maybe even a 1080ti).

As for the original question, that build should be able to drive solid, consistent 1080p 144hz/ maybe 1440p 60hz on the most demanding, AAA titles and PUBG, but a 1070-1080 or 1070-1080ti would be a bigger improvement than the downgrade from 7700k to 1600 or 1700 (if you can call the 1700 a downgrade at all).

If you can, wait for coffee lake as well.

Hope this helps!

Ever heard the most important thing in building a PC is balance the components? if you want to game you should cheap up with an i7 7700 b250 chipset board and stock cooling so you can afford a GTX 1080 or even a 1080ti if ever possible, the i7 does not bottleneck these cards either ways and you get to play in 4k for sure.

Also nvme SSD are not really worth outside very specific usage, I'd get a higher capacity SATA3 SSD instead.

Yes i think i have mistaken with that ...

but about the sata ssd i think the m2 is a lot better of what i heard people say.

what do you think ?

Well I mean, my i7 6700 already keeps up with the TITAN X which is essentially a 1080ti, the only reason you could justify the need for the unlocked i7 7700k would be if you really need squeeze every bit of frame possible for say professional CS:GO play or whatever...  i5 7600k is a terrible option if you want to save up because you can overclock it all you want the locked i7 7700 will still outperform it.

Now about the SSD, you can get m2 factor if you want, there are types of it that aren't nvme, but quite frankly I'd just grab either a 480gb SanDisk for the high capacity or a Samsung EVO 850 255gb for certain reliability, performance wise in real world usage/game usage you'll not feel nor see the difference like ever unless you do storage benchmarks for fun, these fast storages only makes difference in professional workloads with video editing or hardcore compressing and so on.

They're meh in terms of quality.  They aren't a fire hazard like DiabloTek, but they're still not a great option.  I'd suggest looking at tier 1-3 psus.

I think i will change the power supply later , idk why i listened to someone told me that power supply is not big of a deal, you can get anything...

but i will change it when i get enough budget :D

That is very informative, Thank you and tbh I don't think i will overlook my i7 because I don't need all that performance,, i get the K versions because it was on sale that why :D

Here's the thing.  For a budget build a Thermaltake is okay, but a grey label CX is better, greens are garbage.  You want a reliable PSU that has good caps and proper power delivery through the rails.  EVGA, Seasonic, SuperFlower, and a few others are the best.  Thermaltake isn't a bad brand, but outside of cooling and some cases they aren't really that great.  If you stick to the Thermaltake for now just don't OC on it.

Yup u are 100% Right , Thank you ??

Of course! If you want future proofing, definitely look into fitting a 1080 or even 1080ti in your PC.

Either way, you're build will be fine for a little while. I've been gaming on a gtx 760 for a few years and I'm only really feeling it now.

Glad I could help! :D
