i'm running out of ideas what might cause this,

 

so i just bought new headphones with micro now when i check it from the task bar and try to talk it's running fine, when i test in steam or discord nothing works my friends can't hear my voice,

 

(i'm using the front plugs)

what do you mean "micro"? Is mic set as default device, can you record audio with like audacity? If able, try using motherboard input instead of front header. Or try it on another laptop
