Hi,

I've been looking for a decent laptop for a while now, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Most laptops, at least in New Zealand seem to be either cheap netbook type laptops or overly expensive. I'm looking for something in the middle.

Requirements:

  • Around about an i5.
  • SSD, or ssd upgrade option for the future.
  • Decent amount of RAM
  • USB & Hdmi without adapters

I'm mainly going to be using this for programming - compiling and running code - mostly android and .NET, certainly does not need to be a great gaming performer. Mac would be ideal, but impossible at this price range.

Looking for around $1000 NZD (Around $700 USD - but local price inflation is definitely a factor).

So far I've looked at second hand MacBook Pros, however they are a little on the older side for my price range. I've also looked at some Windows laptops, but they have the problems I mentioned in the introduction.

Any, and all help is greatly appreciated.
