Vive still worth the price premium?

Cosmic Railgun

So the HTC vive is $799 CAD on Amazon, and the Oculus rift is only $548. Both come with the touch controllers (the vive also comes with 2 base stations) but is it really worth the $250 price premium? I have an open space that I can use it in along with a PC that can run it all, I want to get the vive but I just can't seem to see why I would drop the extra $250

The Vive is a better headset than the Rift in every single way.it's like comparing a 1050ti to a 1070.Buying a VR headset is not a really good idea right now, unless you really wanna play Gal*Gun(or Doom if that's your thing)

I'd say it is. Be aware that you will need to buy games for said headset which might make the Rift a better choice.

I thought the game libraries had been solved?

If buying the Vive means you can't buy many games, the Rift will fit much better for you.

If you're interested in either headset, give A Chair in a Room: Greenwater a try. Nice little horror game showing what VR can do.

So basically, vive is superior, rift has more games?

No. They both have the same amount of games. Your budget for the headset and games is what I'm referring to. If the Rift allows you to purchase 10 games versus two for the Vive, go Rift. If the games don't matter, go Vive. You can also buy the Vive off of Steam after the $200 price cut.

Personally, I like my Vive, but I play mostly horror games and rail-shooters.
