asus sync Addressable RGB strips

I am thinking of getting aftermarket RGB strips for my case and desk. So, just wondering. If the RGB header on the AUS Z270 motherboards work with addressable/digital RGB strips. as in, if I go on the 'rainbow mode' will each individual led be a different colour? Or do i have to go out and spend an extra £20 for a strip that is 3x shorter and has its own controller and software?

Before you say: 'that is way too long.' I'm going to use this one strip for my desk and pc, it has 2 connections on either side. i just need to cut it to length.

The Aura RGB header is only good for analog RGB control and can't be used with addressable LED's so you will to get a dedicated controller for it.
