I'm getting a i5-6500 dell optiplex sff for free and I'm wanting to know if

1. can I upgrade the psu and if so to what one.

2. If I can't upgrade the psu can the stock psu run a 1050ti?

I would appreciate all of the help! Thank you guys.

Possibly, but I doubt it. The SFF Optiplex 7040 only has a 180W PSU and the 1050 Ti looks like it uses up to 75 watts of power on its own. From past experience, these Dell Optiplex systems are rock solid, but usually use proprietary motherboards that require special PSUs, so a PSU upgrade won't be simple.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

Would it be worth purchasing the 1050ti and trying? I just don't want to waste the $160.

If you have another use for it or another computer to put it into should it not work, you could give it a try, sure, but I don't think it'll go too well.
