Hey guys! This is going to be the start of the planning and execution of a wall-mounted PC build.

The truth be told is that I'm not the most experienced when it come's down to DIY, so this will either end up beautiful (with the trusty assistance of you able individuals); or absolutely terrible.

Whilst my PC knowledge is okay, I'm absolutely terrible when it comes to building anything. :$

To begin with, what would you say was crucial for a wall-mounted PC build? Maybe some of you have built one previously and can impart some tips to assist me as I progress?

29/08/2017: Currently compiling my part's list which are due to be ordered via next-day delivery at the weekend.

Thank you in advance!

what is your plan for this wallmounted build? are you going to keep it on air or are you going to watercool, and if so, what is the layout you're planning?

I was thinking about integrating water-cooling, but this is an area that I haven't stepped into in the past. I'll probably just stick with a water-cooled CPU block but I guess issues may arise with creating a custom mount to attach the radiator to. I would love to integrate a custom water-cooling system, but I don't want to run before I can walk. Do you have any suggestions?

Curiosity - how much ya spending? and what specs do you have planned?

I'm looking to go above and beyond my current spec. I'm still debating whether to have an AMD build as my current PC is Intel.

If it was AMD, I would follow this build but may swap out the RX 480 for a 1080.

Where as if it was Intel, I would swap the Ryzen 7 for an  i7 - 7700k and use the same motherboard but the Intel socket variant - I would probably explore buying the Intel chip set second-hand also!

Specify purchasing route of Intel i7 7700k.

well if you want to go low profile and your budget allows it you could ask parvum for a flat res. just check them out they are awesome

also dont just screw it all to a wooden board and mount it get creative

oh and maybe try 3d modelling it if you can to get an idea of what itll look like

I'll definitely take a look at Parvum - thank you for the referral. I've been exploring various 3D printing options, and with the huge reduction in price for consumer models and their increased practicability, I may buy one to use in conjunction with this build and others in the future.

sounds cool just make sure to use print material thats sturdy and can take a bit of heat - just in case

Do you have any suggestions for consumer level 3D printers within the £300 mark?

Something user-friendly and easy to get the hang of really. I'll have a look at the A8 - thank you once again!
