Hey Guys,

so i decided to run with a ASUS Prime B350-Plus and a Ryzen 5  1600.
What RAM should i get for it? I initially thought about getting this one:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0143UM4TC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&psc=1
But its not on stock and after watchign a couple of videos and also being witness to the flareX designed for AMD Ryzen marketing im kind of unsure what will fit my needs the most.
Any suggestions? :-)

You didn't specify what is your need.

Any ram will work easily at 2133-2400Mhz on all configurations. For 2667, it might be a bit trickier on 4 sticks configurations.

Don't get ram below 2600, your performance in games will suffer. Look at kits between 3000 and 3200 imo.

You are unlikely to get a stable system on Ryzen with these speed and it will require luck, and a lot of tweking.

Also, I did not notice any tangible difference from 2400 to 2667. A little bit at 3000Mhz, but with several problems in some games.

Just go for a well known brand, like Kingston/Corsair/G.Skill in a 2X8 or 1X16 configuration. Run at 2400Mhz for the first time, then test 2667 and 3000 if they pass. Get a model rated for 2400+. Just avoid 2133Mhz models.

What? As long as he is not pushing his CPU to 4ghz with high voltage, there is no reason for him not to run the ram at 3000 and 3200.

With the latest bios revisions most decent boards can do this, and some are as simple as flicking over XMP (some require manual timings input though, but it's not rocket science).

Comparing 2400mhz to 3200mhz, there is a solid difference in gaming just youtube it :)

I'm suing same RAM, and it worked at 2933MHz from the start.

2 sticks of RAM only.

With 4 sticks, I'm not sure that you would get that high.

Even with AGESA 1.0.0.6 update, I was still stuck at 2933, and can't get that magical 3200MHz no matter what I try. And I'm using B350M mortar motherboard if you are interested.

Anyway ... when it comes to RAM and Ryzen, it's not that easy. It depends mostly on IMC quality in your CPU. You could be lucky and get 3200MHz without any problems. Or you can fail with your luck, and won't get anything over 2400MHz. And then there's me, somewhere in between with 2933MHz xD

Samsung B-die would be the best if you want 3200MHz, but even with those RAMs, it's not for sure that you will get high speed.

Also cheak QVL from your motherboard and see what RAMs support high speeds.

If you are fine with running at 2400, then you can get any RAM you want. Even 4 sticks.

i targeted to attempt my first serious overclocking and wanted to go for 3,8mhz on the ryzen 1600 with the b350 motherboard from asus.
I wish i had some guidance along all of it but have not really someone to ask in real life :)

3,8GHz on all cores shouldn't be that hard.

Try 1,35V voltage for vcore.

Change multiplier to 38x

And there is also NB voltage or something like that ... you should put it on 1,2V.
