Hey!

I have thought about the following for my pc since the original mobo died. I have already a graphic card, GTX1050 ti and I5-2400 cpu and corsair CX430 psu. What I would like to do is  get a nice looking whiteish case ie. bitfenix nova,  and a mobo that fits there + also RAM, I only have 2gb atm. The problem is that my country. finland, doenst sell much lga 1155 socketed mobos, I found only H61M-VG4, that has two ram places in it. So that might be the one that makes problems. Also I dont really have a clue what memory it supports, I mean DDR3 yes but what of the speed of the memory ?

If you have better ideas on motherboard or the case please feel free to throw them here, I tried to look at ebay some mobos but found pretty much same kind of mobos there.

Thanks in advance for all ideas :-)

It doesn't matter, any h61 motherboard perfectly fine for your needs.

  • i5-2400 doesn't support overclock
  • Sandy Bridge only support 1066/1333Mhz, it doesn't matter if you bought Z77/H77 motherboard, RAM speed is limited by your processor.
  • For RAM slot shortage, get 8GB Stick DDR3, either used or new, speed doesn't matter, if you buy 1600Mhz it will automatically down-clocked to 1066/1333Mhz, 10GB is more than enough to sustain your whole spec list, and yes Dual Channel will be activated even if the size is different (2+8),
