Someone gave me this motherboard and told me they can't seem to work out whats wrong with it. Look at the top PCIe slot.

Ps do you guys think I can replace this? Or would it be better to just take the pins out and use the other slots?

You could theoretically fix it if you could find the slot "cover" alone, but it would (probably) be a lot of work and not end up being worth it. I would just use the other slots.

I'd just use the other slots, the card would still work fine in the other slots.

I would just use the other slots, looks like someone took the slot cover out for whatever reason (maybe forgot to disengage lock and just forced gpu out?) and putting it back could easily result in bent pins.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I wouldn't just put it back on, I'd buy a new slot and solder it in. All 164 pins of it. But yeah, seems the consensus is to just use the other slots. I'll remove the pins for safety though.
