Not sure where this is supposed to go but it's part of building my setup so I'll post it here.

I have my build done. Now it's time to build a desk. I have a screenshot of what I want but I'm not sure about using an ikea countertop as the surface for my desk. I don't know if I'll like how thick it is. I want my arms to be as level as possible from my armrests to my mouse and keyboard.

Hers what I'm wanting. Just maybe with a thinner piece of wood on top. Does anyone have any experience with a desk like this? Does the thickness of the countertop make it less comfortable?

AFAIK if you have a tabletop that's much thinner it'll bow in the middle if you have a lot of weight on it. Do you have a reason you don't like the thickness?
