Hello guys I am in the market to buy a new phone on a budget price of $300 CAD. I had always used an IOS devices (iPhone,iPod). I am looking to switch to android because I want to learn the OS and also android phones have a better entry price.

What I am looking for in a phone?

***Long battery life no need to recharge or worry about it using any brightness setting I want. Quick charging technologies would be good for some occasions but not needed as I will charge it at night mostly.

-play music/browse internet/use google apps such as drive/docs occasional light games/read comics while I commute.

-i don't know if this one can fit but a good looking screen would be nice (good colors and what not) resolution of screen does not matter as I am only doing basic things on the phone and Think a  720p would be cheaper and do just fine.

***the software needs to be good and reliable. the hardware as well.

-some kind of warranty offered by the manufacturer in Canada. (cant risk international editions)

I have been looking at the zenfone 3 series by asus, some lg phones such as lg x power 2 and moto phones but I am unsure which one of them would work and if there are some that I am missing?

I do not want to order phones from china as it is sketchy (shipping wise) even though their phones look awesome (xiaomi) but I do not want to take risks.

What phones would you recommend?

I am excited to see what you guys have to say!

Thank you for helping me out :D

I would recommend the moto z play. Motorolla has a great software experience, it's basically stock android with minor changes. Most importantly there's not bloatware.

You probably won't find many android phones with a lower resolution than 1080p, that's kind of an IPhone thing to have low res. Either way there's a lot more to a screen than resolution and I like the moto z line.

Xiaomi Redmi note 4

Xiaomi looks awsome and I see its available at newegg.ca for $350 but what if a disaster happens like hardware failure? does xiamoi have good support?

To be fair, the moto mods are kind of gimmicky. I have a moto z and I just have the battery attachment for when I go on long trips or forget to charge my phone. But I got the phone because it's a great phone without the mods. There's not really much else special beyond the mods but I kind of like that. Fast charging, full day battery, good software, and basically an indestructible screen.
