Hey guys, so after a lot of reviews, I've decided on a r7 1700 and so I've gathered myself a build and I'd really like your opinions and perhaps something's not compatible, if anyone could point those problems I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Upgrades:

AMD Ryzen 7 1700, Octo Core, 3.70GHz, 20MB, AM4, 65W, 14nm, BOX
ASUS PRIME A320M-K, AM4, SATA, M.2, uATX
G.Skill RipjawsV DDR4 8GB (2x4GB) 3200MHz CL16 1.35V XMP 2.0

Old parts (Already own)
Asus Strix NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB
465GB Seagate ST500DM002-1BD142 ATA Device (SATA)
111GB Patriot Blast ATA Device (SSD)
931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 ATA Device (SATA)
Cooler Master Elite 430, Midl tower black, w/o PSU, mATX / ATX

PSU OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W (Thinking of upgrading to PSU Enermax NAXN ENP500AGT 500W)

BTW: I will purchase a GTX 1070 in the future once I save up more. Also will upgrade to a better SSD after that as well.

Don't get a A320 Motherboard. Get B350 or X370.

Get at least the ASUS Prime B350-Plus.

And to be honest I wouldn't pair only 8GB of RAM with a R7 1700.

Get something like the EVGA Supernova G2 650W and call it a day. This PSU is solid.

And if I were you I would do some research about what a more expensive PSU or Motherboard gives you.

Here is a PSU tier list, get at least something Tier 3 or better.

For Ryzen, yes - RAM speed matters. I would get something like 3000MHz 2x8GB.

Yes I'm talking about this board. This is the cheapest one I would pair with a R7 1700 but it has less features and connectivity then the ASUS Prime X370-Pro for example.

I'm not sure if it's just for marketing purposes and if it has any meaning, but it says on the website that it accepts only certain RAM, so for this specific motherboard would this ram do?: http://www.skytech.lt/cmu16gx4m2c3200c16-corsair-vengeance-led-2x8gb-ddr4-3200mhz-c16-white-led-p-317379.html

Your talking about the QVL. The manufacturers list the RAM kits they tested with the specific motherboard. But any regular DDR4 kit of memory should work. And since this Corsair kit is DDR4 it should work!

The 2x8gb are quite pricier, is there really a massive advantage to have 16gb over 8gb for gaming to justify spending another 50 euros? I'll be using this rig to render as well, but mainly meant for gaming.

You can get a singe 8GB stick of RAM and get a second one later. Then you eat up less of your RAM slots. What do you want to render?

Gaming Videos, specifically videos ranging from 10-30 minutes in length. 1080p 30fps on 50m bps recorded using shadowplay. This includes civilization, total war and essentially strategy games.

I'd like to mention that I'll probably not be overclocking

For video editing and exporting (if this is what your talking about) I would recommend 16GB.

Thanks for all your help, I've picked out the components and I'll be ordering this: http://www.skytech.lt/krepselis-37693 .html (Not a referral link btw)
