PSU help

I'm going for an EVGA 1080TI with a ryzen 7 1700, 2x8gb ram,1 7.2k hdd, and 1 ssd. 

Would a 700w power supply be enough or should I go for more, considering I'll try to get around 3.9~4 ghz with ryzen and a decent oc on the gpu.

650-700w would be perfect. 

I recommend the EVGA G2 and G3 lines for that sort of thing and heavy overclocking.

You'd be fine even with a decent 550W PSU. The Corsair RM550x and the EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2/G3 are my go-to options.

if you plan to overclock, go for 650-700 watts. otherwise, go somewhere between 550-600

Depends on what 700W PSU. A $20 700W PSU, no. An EVGA 750W G2, heck yeah. A good quality 500-550W PSU would be adeuquate for an overclocked R7 1700 and 1080Ti.

Sidequestion: does anyone know if using a 6 year old 600w pcu would be safe for a build similar to this?
