Okay, so I'm a absolute dummy when it comes to phones, almost as bad as I am with PC's (not quite) but anyways, I have a cricket Branded phone but I literally cannot get any coverage inside of my house whatsoever, I'm currently on Verizon for their coverage but the speeds are worse than dial up internet (literally) and I'm wondering if I can unlock my cricket Branded phone to work with T-Mobile/metropcs

If you used your device on Cricket for over 6 months, you are entitled to an unlock from Cricket to get the device to work on T-mobile. Metro runs on T mobile's network, no problem there. They are all GSM (other than Verizon) so all cell providers excluding Sprint and Verizon work with each other, as long as it is unlocked. Getting back to unlocking, visit a Cricket store and ask them to unlock it.

What?

You're either A in a super bad coverage zone for 4G or  B in Safety Mode after running out of data.

Tmobile and Sprint are also 2 networks I'd avoid if you already have service. I use Project Fi which piggybacks off both and my coverage is atrocious in some parts of town.

So should I reactivate and just deal with shabby indoor service for 5 more months or?

5 months. $40 per plan, so $200. Not worth it. Metro offers free phones if you did not cancel your verizon service yet.

I have 4-5 bars of LTE constantly and I have unlimited high speed data every speed test I do is usually about 0.90 mbps

If you're on the unlimited plan, it's only good for 4G speed up to the first 22gb. Anything after is subject to slow down if the tower is overloaded.

Mobile internet is not meant to replace wifi, but supplement it.

This is the first month and I've only used 4.39 gb

Is Verizon dying?  @Mooshi

Hmm..something seems weird. Network resets are supposed to resolve those type of network issues. I'd actually call them (*611 from your vzw phone) and have someone look at the account. If it's not Saftey Mode kicking in or deprioritization from the unlimited plan, I wonder if a tower is having an issue?

Hopefully they can sort this problem out, otherwise back to cricket I go
