PLZ HELP

I have just received my computer from school and i want to add it to my homegroup so it can see my file server. I have sucessfully added it to the homegroup but when ii try to access the shared folder i made it gives the Cannot access error. It sees the default shared users tab but cannot access the folder ii specifically shared

Maybe you don't have permission to see and open the files?

Does the school have a technology policy on the computer?
