Quick question about modem

So I have a good old centurylink dsl modem that has two dsl lights. Dsl 1 is off while 2 is on and the internet light keeps flashing because it cannot make the connection to the provider. I can't find a single thing online about the difference between the two dsl lights and there is only one dsl port on the back of the modem. This is not my modem so I do not know if the first light was on before the internet stopped working but if anyone can clarify the point of said light and or what I can simply do to fix this situation I'd be delighted thanks guys

You or the owner should contact the ISP with your concerns and it would have been nice if you put the model model number for someone who has experience with that specific model to advise you.

Oh we have Contacted them. They don't know jack about the difference between the dsl 1 and 2 lights. Just trying to see if someone can solve the mystery of having two dsl lights with just one dsl port.

The only thing I can think is its a bonded modem. You might see only 1 DSL port but 1 DSL line is typically a pair and with RJ11 you can can add another pair, essentially two connections in one cable. I only have 1 customer like this. 

 

If you could grab the modem model that would help.
