So my dad's windows phone is on its last legs and he needs a new one. I found a G4 on craigslist for 60 dollars, pristine condition, is it a good deal? How prevelant was the bootloop? Was there any fixes? Does it make a difference that my dad doesnt use his phone for much at all? And will a custom rom fix that?

almost every lgg4 will go through it due to a manufacturing defect.

Yea but theres no software fix for it? I thought it was overheating, so running it lower speed or something?

nope, even with all precaution it will happen

yup, even with that LG tried to lower clock speed to fix it but the problem still persisted

So turn from the g4 and get a samsung and flash a rom to get rid of the crap software?

yup, even with "crap" software, Samsung phones have a giant community due to sales volume and specs.

HE really wants to do it with me cause I am much closer than the other person. G4 is really not good? Im willing to take the phone apart to fix something if possible

Add OnePlus One to that list as well

 

LG used cheap solder on their phones, and the G4 got really really warm due to the CPU being the mobile equivalent of the 7700K, so eventually the CPU or other components would desolder off the board
