Im currently planning out my first ever budget custom pc build. It'll mainly be used for programming, video editing and some light gaming; rocket league, minecraft and paladins at most.

I've chosen to go with a mini-itx form factor, so that way in case I ever need to bring it somewhere I can do so without having to bring a big beast.

If you dont mind, could you please go over my list and tell me about anything that you think would be helpful for me to know.

List: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3EA9V3DM8L5F1/ref=cm_wl_huc_title

Thanks.

($600 budget)

Firstoff, I'd recommend using PC partpicker. it's much better at finding better deals, and it's easier to make a build with it.

second, I think you're putting too much CPU, and not enough GPU.

in your place, I'd go for something like a 1050Ti at least. even a R3 1200 OC'ed to 3.9Ghz, and a GTX 1060/RX 580 would be way better.

@KamdenBolhuis, this is why you should use PC partpicker. it catches these issues.

I made a new list.

It's slightly over budget, and the CPU is a bit weaker than I'd like, but GTX 1060 + R3 1200 (OC'ed to 3.9) is a way better combo than R5 1600 + GTX 1050, or even R5 1400 + GTX 1050 Ti

SSD keeps it nice and fast, with a pretty powerful GPu and similar case.

ITX is expensive on Ryzen so mATX instead. Cheaper case and HDD would get you to a RX580 4GB or GTX 1060 6GB.

Changed the proccessor to a Ryzen 5 1400.

GPU switched to gtx 1050ti 4gb

Much better.

GTX 1060 + R3 1200 might still be better, but that's up for debate.

make sure you either get fast RAM, or OC the RAM you get. fast RAM can give up to 20% performance improvements on Ryzen.

like @Shiv78 said, it's really hard to find fast 8GB memory, so just OC some normal 2133 or 2400 memory.

you can follow the memory OC guide in my sig. (credit to magetank)
