PC UPGRADE HELP

crankshaft10

Hi I would like some advise on the new pc parts I would be planning on buying. I would need some help to see if the parts I would be getting would be the best parts for my money

1. Budget & Location

i would like to stay under $800 and I live in the US

2. Aim

a lot of gaming  and some video editing

3. Monitors

2 acer 1080p 75 hz monitors and planning to stay that way

4. Peripherals

I have everything I need including a geforce gtx 780 graphics card everything else needs upgrading except hard drives, ssd, power supply.

5. Why are you upgrading?

bc my pc can't perform as good as i would like it to and be as silent as i would like it.

the only reason i'm not upgrading my graphics card rn is bc I don't feel like it is very necessary at the moment but will be a upgrade in the future.

the pc parts i have chosen are on a theme of a white and black build.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mcz7LD

please give me your feedback and changes that would help me a lot for saving money.

this is my first post so please if I forgot anything tell me.

and idk if that fan controler will even work can anyone suggest a better one.

you could get something along the lines of a ryzen 1600 and have better CPU multithreading for video editing, while retaining most of your FPS in gaming

if you really are settled for intel, wait for a bit for coffee lake, it will probably have 6 core mainstream SKUs and the new CPUs won't be compatible with any existing 100 or 200 series motherboards.

edit: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kvHzD8, did use the cheapest B350 motherboard as I don't know what you're looking for in a motherboard, B350 and X370 can overclock any ryzen chip. B350 can't SLI or CrossFire though, while X370 can.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($197.88 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($32.49 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Motherboard: ASRock - X370 KILLER SLI/ac ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($131.49 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($152.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P400S TEMPERED GLASS ATX Mid Tower Case  ($99.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $614.83

R5 1600 is definitely the better choice and more than adequate for 1080p 75Hz. A GPU upgrade would help more for gaming. You can get this cooler instead if you want;

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mjdqqs/phanteks-cpu-cooler-phtc12dx

but you'd need to contact Phanteks and ask for an AM4 mounting bracket. You can also get this cooler in black with white fans for $10 less.

It would be useful if we knew the rest of the specs though so we know what you're holding on to, and what might be worth keeping as a CPU upgrade might not be wise or necessary. For a GPU upgrade, I'd probably aim to get RX Vega 56 or GTX 1070, or if you go with the CPU upgrade for now and wait a while, maybe GTX xx60 or GTX xx70 Volta.
