I am attempting to flash my motherboard BIOS to the latest version via the bootable USB DOS method. The motherboard in question is an MSI H61MU-E35. I created the bootable USB drive, copied the BIOS update .exe file from MSI's website to the USB root directory, booted into DOS and ran the file. It seems to run through some checks, then asks me if I'm sure I want to flash the BIOS. As soon as I hit 'yes' it spits back out an error stating there was a "Problem Allocating BIOS Buffer". Does anyone know why I keep getting this error? I'm stumped.

The reason I'm even bothering to update the BIOS is because I'm having trouble with the PCI-E x16 slot. The system boots and runs just fine when using an old GTX 550ti. However, when I'm trying to use a (relatively) newer R9 380x, I get nothing. No post beeps, blank screen, just nothing. I believe I've narrowed it down to the extremely outdated bios. The board was originally on ver. 10.4 and I've been able to update it all the way to 12.0 so far. However now I'm stuck trying to get it to 12.2 (the next step up) or 12.3 (the latest version and the one that's supposed to fix the PCI-E slot problem). All other flashes went easily enough, but now I'm getting the "Problem Allocating BIOS Buffer" error explained above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to put this build together for a friend's birthday and I'd really like to get it done on time!
