Setting up Mac OS VM Help

I need to set up a Mac OS virtual machine on my Windows 10 computer. However the context menu does not have an option for a 64 bit version. I have a ryzen processor, and I'm trying to use Virtualbox. What should I do or can you recommend another free software?

macOS doesn't work with Ryzen, and you need a Mac to make a Mac VM, IIRC.

A VM is counted as Hackintoshing?

This isn't Hackintoshing. I want to use the VM for access to Xcode.

He is using a Copy of Mac Os that goes against the TOS

Oh..... yeah... forgot about that.  (Though I do have a hackintosh, I didn't know it applied to VMs as well)

the ideal principle of not allowing hackintoshes is that installing MacOS on anything other than a MAC is illegal.A VM is not a Mac.And it woudn't have worked anyway

I hear a voice in my head that sees: You can download a VMware file that gives you macos, Just google"MACOSX in VMware" I know for sure that OSX das not have a ISO file (witch you need for VMware).

 

Or you can look if some has a disk with it on it

Not really. Most people building a Hackintosh (like me) are just tinkering. And I've got a MacBook Pro (work laptop), iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Pro, 2 iPhone 4s', 3 iPhone 4's, and a broken iPad 3. And a PowerMac G5 and broken PowerBook G4. So it's not to have a Mac and bypass Apple, but to tinker, and get a bit more performance out of my current PC (Davinci Resolve runs much better on Mac than Windows 10).

Actually you can grab an iso from a mac through the app store

Yup. It's a UNIX OS, so the two are related. Why doesn't Windows move to a Linux or UNIX foundation? They seem much more stable.

Goes against the TOS.Apple only allows copy of MAC OS to be installed on a Mac.That just to reinstall the OS when something happens(which almost never happens)

Yup, but now we're moving from discussing mackintoshes and the idea behind them, to actually helping you do it, and that's against the rules. Except for Linus, he can do whatever he wants.

Good point. At least they're not as bad as McAfee (wait, don't they support them as well?), always trying to switch your search engine to "Secure Search" Yahoo, which always leads to crappy websites and you never find what you want.

Yeah. I used to have a dying laptop running Ubuntu, and then ran a crap ton of other Linux VMs inside it. I tinkered that thing to death. Literally, I was always having hardware errors and Ubuntu would crash for some unknown reason. And if you use Ubuntu, check out Noobslab, you can get themes to make it look like Mac, Windows, a dark theme, neon themes, whatever you want.

then run it on an Apple Computer. installing it on anything BUT an apple computer is against the terms of use for the website.

Looks to much like windows though. I liked the Unity desktop on Ubuntu. Linus mint is well featured as well, and I messed with Lubuntu and Puppy Linux and a bunch of others.

Identical Windows Laptop: $280

MacBook Pro 13: $650

 

And I hackintoshed my laptop, I literally only boot to Windows for games and eGPU

@thom derksen, Deepin and Elementary OS are also Mac-like distress, and Zorin OS is pretty cool. Never got to do much with Zorin though.

Trying to reinstall is impossible due to the way Windows is set up. Sigh... Kali is so great. It's my new hobby to know how to use every tool.

That's when you get a bunch of old drive, and just swap them out depending on what OS you're using. Hey, you could even make a cool case mod in a 5 1/4" bay, that holds the SATA power and data cables, then make it so you can put an HDD in a 3D printed casing, and slide it in like a cartridge, depending on what OS you want to boot.
