What should I get to run a 144hz 2560x1080 ultra-wide monitor reliably?

EricSartor

So Linus just reviewed this bad boy, and I'm pretty impressed.  I like the idea of a 144hz ultra wide, and as Linus said in the video, I see the non-1440 resolution as a plus.  However, 2560x1080 is still a lot of pixels to push...so I'm wondering if anyone has anything experience with this kind of set up?  Could I get away with a single 1080Ti?  Or is this SLI territory?  I'm currently running a 1080p 144hz monitor with a GTX 1070 but I don't think I'm actually hitting that FPS mark in most games...

My 1080 is running 5760x1080 games with no hitches and minimums in the 80Hz and up range so a 1080 Ti should have no issue hitting 2560x1080 144Hz.

The 1070 you have would be sufficient to drive a 1080p ultrawide at 144Hz in most games at high or ultra settings. A single 1080Ti will certainly be powerful enough.

which games? other than light games like overwatch, most game won't run 144hz maxed out at ultrawide 1080p.

my 980ti is getting 120fps in most games maxed out at 1080p on my 144hz panels so id say a 1080Ti if you want to max em out and still get 100+ FPS
