That "missing" cap is normal. The model in question just will not use it anyway. You can see further on the card the other component that belongs with it.

However the 3rd pic looks like some dmg? maybe get a better focused picture. Its a bit blurry

Ususally, AFAIK, when you get BSOD it's not the graphics card as the graphics card just display video on your monitor. So you might start search somewhere else like mobo, ram, cpu maybe even psu.

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x, Cooling: Corsair H100i Platinum AIO MOBO: Asus Strix B450 F GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Founders Edition + Arctic Accelero Xtreme III RAM: 2x8GB ThermalTake ToughRAM White 3200MHz PSU: Corsair RM850x White Storage: 250GB Samsung 970 Evo NVMe CASE: Corsair 275r Airflow White OTHER: White and Orange Cable Extensions ---- MONITOR: Samsung LC32JG5 32" WQHD 1440p VA 144Hz

I replaced psu recently so it definitely isn't that

the only reason I'm saying gpu is because I had taken it out to clean it and when I replaced it it wouldn't boot for ages

now it boots but blue screens

If you have an iGPU, boot up on that and see if the BSOD still persists. That way you can know for sure if the GPU is the issue

In that case it could be your voltages. Bring the OC down a little and stress test. Also when does the blue screen occur? Under load?

Yeah restore your overclock to factory and see if it loads. If it does then slowly overclock. If it still fails at factory then it could be a RAM/Motherboard issue. Make sure your bios is up to date as well.
