Alright, so i'm looking to upgrade my processor (AMD 6300 FX 6 CORE 3.5 Ghz) I mostly play CS:GO and its a cpu based game, my budget is around 100$-140$

my socket is AM3+

I'm really new to upgrading/building pc's because im 16 and just built my first pc around 2 years ago and now i'm finally looking to upgrade

Thank you so much in advanced - Dylan

If it's only $100-$140 then go for the FX 8350, make sure to buy something like a 212 EVO or Cryorig H7 because the stock cooler sounds like a jet engine.

Thanks so much, i'll look into the cooler, but i don't think it'l be a problem because i mostly where headphones haha, i'm not really confident in myself when installing stuff like this because i had help when i built my pc, of course i'll look up tutorials and what not but yeah, i was looking at the 8350 already. but just curious and wanting to learn more about computers and all, what makes it so much better? i get that it has 2 more cores which = more multi tasking and i saw that it had 4 ghz instead of 3.5 but is that it?

4GHz is the clock speed, the higher the number the better. More cores is also better except when a compared CPU has a higher IPC (which is why a four core Ryzen CPU beats and eight core FX Series CPU)

I would still strongly consider getting a cooler, the stock one really isn't good, my friend's computer has crashed from overheating with it multiple times.

i like linux

I'll most likely end up buying, thanks again!
