I'm experiencing some very strange issues powering on a PC I built (specs in description).

When I pushed the power button to turn it on yesterday, it started to boot, but shortly after the post screen, the power just seemed to be cut off. The fans turned off, and I couldn't power it on again with the power button.

I wiggled around every single PSU connector, and even reseated the power switch I/O connector, but to no avail. I was only able to switch it on by repeatedly flicking the switch on the back of the PSU. I was able to shut the PC down using the power button, so that's not the problem.

Today, it happened again. I powered it on, and a few seconds into boot, it just crashed on me. I opened it up again, removed the power switch connector, and shorted the pins with a screwdriver. Still no luck. I tried flipping the PSU switch, but it didn't work. It only worked once I flipped the UPS switch.

Sounds like a loose connection. I even reconnected the power cable. What do you think is going on?

I'd appreciate some help.

i think it's a dying unit. i remembered having one FSP oem psu that derped out after the boot screen and wouldn't work. the pc would run if i turned it on but it wouldn't post at all, never worked after that.

Feels like a dying power supply. Not sure how warranty in your place but Seasonic Eco only has a 3 year warranty. https://seasonic.com/rma/

It may be the power button. I tried to use it to turn it off but it didn't work.

What reason should I cite for the return?

Just say describe the issue you are having like you did to us

Better RMA just in case as fiddling around with stuff could void warranty
