Hey,

I recently bought my first gaming rig, and after a while a noticed that my gpu is way underperforming. I lunched Rise of the Tomb raider everything on ultra and i barely got 60fps. I had to downgrade some settings to make it stable, but with a 700€ graphics card that shoud never happen and i dont know whats the problem. I tried playing a less demanding game like csgo and got the same results.

Ive tried updating all drivers and checked my nvidia settings. Could it be that my gpu is getting bottlenecks?

Help please.....

System specs are:

Amd ryzen 1500x

Asus Strix gtx 1080 11G

16GB of corsair vengeance 3000Mhz ram

Asus Prime B350 pro

It indeed might be the CPU, I'd monitor the GPU & CPU usage per each thread through MSI' Afterburner OSD when gaming and if the GPU usage drops below 99% and/or CPU is pinned at 100% then you've got a CPU bottleneck. To solve this, you can increase the resolution through DSR or overclock the CPU.

You bought a pretty imbalanced combo (CPU+GPU-wise) so it might be the reason behind your issues.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

Try using the DX11 API in Tomb Raider. But yes, TR is very CPU heavy and that is a pretty unbalanced system dude.

Honestly, why didn't you pose this question to begin with. 1500X is a brand new CPU. This whole topic stinks, and your username isn't helping either. Get someone else to entertain your Sunday.
