Hello everyone,

I am trying to choose an SSD for my Ryzen build and I'm not sure which one and how much storage I should get. I would be playing a maximum of 4 AAA titles regularly. So I'm looking for an SSD that can act as my boot drive and a game drive. Also, do SSDs provide any significant benefits in video editing compared to using HDDs with regards to rendering times? If yes then I would be using the SSDs for that as well. It would be mostly 1080p videos around 30mins-1hr long. Would a 250GB SSD be enough for this or should I get a 500 GB?

I am looking for an M.2 drive preferably all black or at least has enough black so it doesn't stand out. I have been able to find only the Samsung 960 Evo and WD Black in this regard. One more question is whether I can use NVMe drives with the B350 (both 960 Evo and WD Black are NVMe).

Go with the 960 Evo 500gb. If you at max have 4 AAA titles, its more than enough. Get a 2nd Drive with 1-2tb for 60ish € and put the stuff you dont need on it, and if you need it move it back. It depends if your Motherboard is M2 Nvme compatible, you can check that.

Im not 100% sure but i think SSDs do increase video editing time.

I already have a 2 1Tb hdds with me which I will use for storage. The 960 Evo 500 is around 20k INR here ($315) and the SATA SSD 850 Evo 500 is 14k ($220). I'm contemplating whether NVMe is worth those $100 over the SATA model. Apparently the B350 Strix ROG supports NVMe.

As far as I know and I'm no expert, SSDs don't really help render times but they are better for preview. They make it much smoother. Since you plan to add AAA games you might be better with the 500 GB one since games are just getting bigger.
