I have a 1300 budget and I am torn between getting a laptop or building a PC. I like the Asus ROG STRIX GL753VE but is it worth the money? Also this seems like a terrible time to build a PC due to the crazy GPU prices, any build suggestions with in my budget?

A desktop will give you more performance for your money, but a laptop will give you portability. Do you already have a desktop, or would we need to include the cost of a keyboard, mouse, and monitor?

I don't currently have a desktop, I'd need to purchase a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

The money left can go towards a GPU, look on craigslist for GPUs, but the only cards you should get for a monitor like this is the R9 FURY/X, GTX 980 Ti and GTX 1070, they are all great cards at 4K, you just need to turn the settings a little down to get that 60fps but still keep amazing visuals.

I highly doubt you checked all 4 GPUs and found them all to be over 500$ in your area.

Anyways, 1440p build, able to max out nearly every game 1440p:
