I live in Canada and tether my phone to my computer in order to play games online. The phone is a nexus 6P and has a constant issue with becoming invisible to nearby devices. The hotspot says it's on but every device connected to it drops signal simultaneously. I've tried everything with the phone to fix it factory resets but nothing works.

My solution was going to be to buy a MIFI device but they seem to be locked behind carriers and in my carrier's case (Rogers) locks them to specific plans even so I can't use my current data plan with the device. I've googled everything I can think of but everything I find is ancient forum posts, poorly reviewed devices, or something that only work in the USA.

Anyone know if there's a way to make my connection more stable?
