So I come here asking for help in getting faster Internet. Right now I have wireless Internet threw a company called speed connect. It is horrible. I don't have many options other then that. But the reason I ask is that there is a verizon tower near me and fiber runs in front of my house that goes to the tower. Also I have a 50 foot tower installed just to get the crappie Internet I have now. Is there anything I can do to fix my problem with the thing's I have avalble. Any help with this would be awesome.

Is this a landline connection we are talking about or a cellular one?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Not without doing anything illegal, no :(

Unless they can provide you with a better signal through repositioning the antenna or getting a new one, you're kind of stuck.

No companies around that will run internet to your place by chance?

No, I checked. Charter is down the road from me and they said it would be 10,000 to build out to me.

Ouch. Are you in a neighborhood or just kind of out away from everyone else?

Kind of a neighborhood. There is enough house within there 1200 foot build out range and I went to each house and asked If they would sign up and they all said yes but Charter didn't care.

That doesn't surprise me. Charter is a bunch of greedy assholes.

They closed all their stores near my dad and charged him $40 after sending a tech out to pick up his equipment, never told him anything about a charge.

What state are you in?

I can try poking around and see if there are any business plans available from other providers and maybe you could get a single gigabit line and split that with everyone. It would take some work though to get it all done but would still be cheaper than the $10,000 install fee.

Michigan 48722. That would be awesome. I have done everything I could with no luck.

Have you looked at Air Advantage for service by chance?

Yes. They are worse then what I have now.

Yah, for some reason the site I saw them said up to 1000Mbps but after checking their site the only list 5Mbps service, lol.

Only viable options I see are:

1. Call AT&T and see what their options are.

2. Try calling Verizon and see if you can work something out with a business fiber plan since they've got some running through the area, maybe they can do something.

Yeah I did both of those. At this point I think I need to find some that will let me put a tower on there land that has charter and send a signal to my tower and go from there.
