Hello,

Since about 2 weeks ago i'm having issues with my RAM, especially when using Adobe After Effects

The RAM usage just keeps increasing over time (even when idle) up to a point where it takes all of my available RAM and crashes. Even with a simple project with a few layers it will go up to 11GB usage and then Windows errors saying the program must be closed

- I have been using after effects for years and never had any problems (even with very big projects), the problem just started recently about 2 weeks ago. I have not changed any settings that could cause this

- All of my drivers are updated and PC is free of malware/virus

- If i purge my memory inside AE this works but then the problem starts over again and the usage will just keep increasing over time

- If I open a brand new project the RAM does not purge (10GB usage for an empty project)

- On other programs I dont have this issue (for example Premiere Pro or Battlefield 4)

- My Specs:

Windows 8.1 64 bit, i7 4790k, 16GB RAM, EVGA GTX 970 - If any other info is required i will gladly provide this

I have tried searching online for a solution myself but since I only have basic PC knowledge I dont really know what to do

Is there anyone out here that can advice me what I should do or try? Could my problem be "RAM leak"? Also, if the problem is RAM leak, is this caused by software or hardware? So would reinstalling my OS help or should i buy and insert new ram instead?

Any advice is welcome!

if other programs are working, it probably is a software sided issue. reinstall after affects? also, is your ram usage high when playing bf4 or any other programs?

"May your frame rates be high and your temperatures low"

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.
