you can actually test that resolution regardless of your monitor

 

in your Nvidia Control Panel you can manually create a resolution of 3440x1440
then you can run your games at that resolution and take a look for yourself before you buy the monitor

(yes it will looks bad on your current monitor, the fps wont lie)

I already have an 3440x1440 monitor (predator x34)xD
