I realized the other day that I really hate the phrase "shake things up".  People use it all the time!  Ryzen is going to 'shake things up' in the CPU market.  Politician A or B is going to 'shake things up'.  It's the current year so we need company x to release product y and really 'shake things up'.  No, we don't need things to be randomly shaken up.  Specific actions will produce specific results.  Shaking up is random.  It suggests that change is an end unto itself.  I also think it diminishes the hard work and brilliant minds of the people innovating to gain an advantage in the market (AMD, Tesla, SpaceX, etc).

It's like saying "I don't like the status quo so lets just shake it and see what random change comes about automatically"  But you can't 'shake' a status quo.  I just think it's a dumb phrase.  please prove me wrong.
