Ryzen 5 1600 temps

Just curious... Are these temps on my R5 1600 @ 3.5 "O.K" and would replacing the stock thermal from the wraith spire with artic mx4 help much? Thanks!

Did you mount the cooler properly? thats quite high temps for only 3.5ghz.

 

At 3.8 on the stock cooler(and paste) i don't hit that high.

Well, it's 5 bucks, why not, everybody who gets a new build should have one in my opinion

seems a little high for stock cooler. what voltage are you using?

That's way high both for 3.5 and even a decent overclock at full load quite sure something is wrong with your cooler or mounting

I'll remount the cooler. I did have a little hickup when installing it

I just tested mine on the stock cooler and I hit 80 at 3,5Ghz.

Check your voltage during the test how high is it?

I'm wondering what the point is for a 3.5GHz overclock when at stock a Ryzen 5 1600 has a base clock of 3.2, boosting to 3.6 on all cores (I believe), and assuming temperatures are acceptable, XFR will boost one or two cores to 3.7.

 

When I was still using the stock cooler, I clocked my Ryzen 5 1600 to 3.8GHz at 1.35v and saw temps around 73c in Aida64 and 80c in Prime95.  I added the Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 cooler and lowered temps to around 61c and 63c respectively.

Okay... So somehow after replacing the stock thermal compound the temps went up about 2*c... I guess the rumours where true.
