can someone explain how the hell linus managed to find a used 980 ti for $200, how, he must have used his influence to do it, same with paul and kyle, what are the chances that both of them got 980ti's for super cheap and why can't I, the average consumer who is always browsing the used market, find deals like this?

these are very true but 980 ti's weren't used for mining due to high power demand correct? and are prices naturally lower in LA?

1. yep but the 1070 is the 3rd best card for mining and 980ti has similar performance so all the gamers went to the not in production limited stock 980 Ti.

i currently have a 1070 in my rig however, i wanted to build my partner a rig and i need a graphics card and remembered 980ti's exist, might just wait for prices to stabilize again

They were affected, since peeps who couldn’t get a 1070 for gaming got them instead.
