My latency

I use speedtest.net and it always says my ping is 1 or 2 ms, which is far from the real latency between 300-500ms (I deduced that from playing Clash Royale; very difficult to explain RN). Can anyone tell me what is the problem?

Btw the real upload speeds are 2mbps not 11-12, that was a one time error.

It happens everytime, has been happening since I know how to check my internet speed (abt 5 years, Im only 16) and happens on every device

I can assure you while playing I can feel the latency, its obnoxiously slow

yes, you don't live close to a clash royale server, so that explains why you get low ping in speedtest but higher lag in clash royale

Dont play dota too often but the latency was still there last time I played it

Ping is not an inherent property of your internet connection (for the most part) it mostly has to do with the physical distance between you and the server you are pinging (assuming you don't have any trash equipment slowing things down along the way). The SpeedTest server you are pinging is probably just down the street from you while the server for your game is probably across the country (or world). There's also the factor of the quality of the server you're connecting to and how many other people are connected to it as well as your ISP's (and your own network's) packet prioritization settings (they tend to give priority to speedtest.net so customers think they're getting what they pay for). You can check your router's QoS settings which may help a little bit but this is more an issue of your distance to the server and a possibly sub-par server being used in that game.

Thx alot bro, this helped to me understand the problem. Now the only solution I can think of is to leave this country of mine: which is impossible considering I'm still in H.School. But thx once again,I appreciate the time you took to type that thing and explain me, thx alot.

If the devs allow for it in that game, you can also just host your own server... guaranteed <1ms ping.
