Vega Build

ChackoM

I added a Vega 56 to my list cause I'm completely in love with it. Great performance, and not too expensive, and I love the design. However, my build budget is $1100, and right now with it it costs $1223. Anyway to make it cheaper? Thanks!

Did you actually see the leaks and reviews every one else did? It actually is the opposite, overpriced for under performing in comparative to nVidia offerings.

Do not fall into the hype train trap, wait for the reviews to come out and show what this GPU can really do.

Yeah, you're right. But even if the Vega isn't up to par, I'll probably get a 1070, which is nearly the same price. Is there any parts of the build I can change to make it cheaper?

Besides removing stuff you dont need such as the RBG strip and keyboard and mouse if you dont need them? probably not to the amount you need

Frankly speaking the build is so balanced I think it is worth more saving the missing 122 dollars, skip a few meals hehe than crippling the build.

I'd step down to a R5 1400, and drop the Vega to a 1060 6GB (Unless you're reeeally set on Vega). After that, if you can fit it, go for 16GB RAM.

Hmm I'm kinda set on Vega but if benchmarks tell me otherwise probably 1070. I think I'll upgrade to 16gb later in the future

Changed some parts around, and removed SSD since you can add that later too without losing any money(since you won't replace, just add)

Awesome! I need 2TB cause I'm dualbooting Ubuntu and Windows :(. Also I've heard Corsair Vengeance LPX is perfect for Ryzen, especially with all the memory issues. The monitor is also freesync as well. I might take out the SSD though. Thanks!

Swapped HDD to include a 2TB drive and swapped monitor to include a Freesync monitor. Left the RAM as it was since after reading some reviews, it seems like once you update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version, the Team 3000mhz Ram Kits have no problem running at the listed speeds. (**your mileage may vary**). You can swap out for the corsair kits but it will be nearly impossible to stay within your budget then, unless you don't mind going with a cheaper case or lose freesyn. The current build is $0.81 over your budget, skip coffee for a day imo. lol

Haha you did it! Not to be nitpicky but 21.5'' is a bit small, but screw it I think this is my new build!

If you have a old pair of keyboard/mouse you can use temperorly while you save up some money, then you can go with this. This will give you a 24" FreeSync Monitor, while staying within your budget.
