New Comp

Hi Everyone,

 

So recently my motherboard went on my fathers computer - he was running a Dell Studio XPS 8100 i7-870, 8g of ram, with upgraded PSU and Gfx card (Hd6950). I need to replace this as cheaply (but with good/decent parts in mind). I can salvage the PSU/Gfx card - however the ram will need upgrading. I was wondering if someone could help me out with this?

What socket is this motherboard? LGA 1366?

 

 

 

Anyways, I would just recommend a simple X5650 (if your motherboard supports) and a SSD. If you have extra, get more RAM.
