GTX 1060 prices are about back down to normal if you don't want to wait.

Looks good, may be worth buying into Vega if you want to play games on Ultra and get 144fps though.

We have no clue if it is worth it yet, got to wait for benchmarks.

AMD have released some numbers, its not hard to figure it will be around a 1080.

AMD's benchmarks have always been fake and over exaggerated. Remember when they showed the Fury X destroying the Titan X (Maxwell) in everything, but in reality it was only a little faster than a 980.

They will give favourable numbers (Its marketing), but they still are real and official (They would have to be legally). I'd be very surprised if it didnt perform like a 1080.

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions on the 1060.

But I do want to go with an AMD card seeing as my monitor supports Freesync so id like to utilize that to my potential.

Thoughts on RX570 vs RX580 for 1080p 144fps gaming on high-ult settings?

Vega is still an option in my mind but I really don't think ill need that kind of power for a 1080p display which I do not plan to update for a while or maybe I'm wrong here?

Id get an asus or gigabyte or asrock motherboard.

Get another fan as imtake to get a positive air pressure going. Im using both phantecs fans as exhaust and i got 2 be quiet 140mm silent wings 3 as intake and run them both at max. (I cant hear them at all).

Thanks for the suggestions but the mobo is going to have to stay for now, its got enough features for what ill use it for but ill keep those manufacturers in mind for future builds.

As for the fans I am going to be ordering a couple more.  Are you running your exhaust out the top of the case or back / top?

Back/top. I also decreased their curve to keep a positive pressure so dust wouldnt come in. The intakes are running at max because the holes for air are quite small so the have to run at high speed to get lots of air in.

Also asus is usually the best. I domt really trust msi because their boards are doa quite a lot based on reveiws.

Dead on arrival?

I could see where your coming from I guess I got lucky mine works well so far ill keep ya posted haha. If she dies ill go throw it through the front door of NCIX.

Looking forward to getting my new fans I ended up going with 2 Corsair Air Series AF120 Performance fans there rated at around 60 Cf/m which I think for my minimal setup should be more than sufficient.  Also they came in a two pack and were on sale so that played a part in my choice.  I will keep in mind adjusting the fans performance curves to ensure some positive air flow.

On a side note I have an engineering background with thermodynamics knowledge now if I went off my own knowledge of heat etc I would say a negative pressure would be more beneficial for cooling but I can understand where having the anti dust characteristics of positive air flow would make sense for longevity of your system.  Thoughts?

Yes DOA=Dead on Arrival

Please explain why you think a negative pressure would be more beneficial.

Well your ridding the case, heat sinks and other components of air that has already absorbed any amount of heat from said components but with that its just as important to bring in fresh cool air to continue the cycle.  I guess it wouldn't be beneficial to have a highly biased negative pressure setup but enough that its truly exhausting that hot air somewhere. and not just in a fury out every orifice in your case due to excessive positive pressure.  Another example of this would be when you use an AIO cooler or liquid cooling setup with a huge radiator it wouldn't be beneficial to blow that hot air off the rad back into your case it just doesn't make any sense from an efficiency standpoint your just raising the ambient air temp around the components..

Guess ill have to get my fans and see what works best numbers don't lie.

I work at an ammonia refrigeration plant as a power engineer and of course this is indirect cooling we do (unlike using an open air system like in a computer which is much harder to control this is why water cooling is so effective) using evaporators, compressors, condensers, pumps etc but again the basic cycle entails absorbing a heat load with a specific refrigerant that being Freon, Ammonia or in our computer cases AIR and disposing of said heat far away from the medium being cooled hence the condensers are on the roof of most buildings.

But even after those statements & comparisons with any air cooling its very hard to achieve this flawless cycle because you don't really have a "refrigerant" (Could be water, nh3, glycol etc) to physically absorb and take away this heat and exhaust it in a controlled manner.
