Recently I had been attempting to install Win10 to a HDD on a build that pertained of the following:

SX500-LG psu, 1600x, Gigabyte AB350n-gaming wifi mobo, a HD7750(as a temporary in-place gpu), and 8GB of Crucial DDR4 @ 2133 1.2V.

Each time, when it was attempting to install, it either became unresponsive or blue-screened - restarting the installation process.

The odd part was, that after I installed the OS on the HDD using a different system, I ran it on the rig posted above, and I was able to load up windows 10 with no errors.

Anybody know what could've been causing the error? Thanks.

First thing, let's see how long that installation lasts on that system. Windows installations usually aren't transferable across systems (I'm still wondering how Linus makes his portable Windows drives) as stability is a major issue. I've tried on about 5 systems ranging from old to modern and all of them bluescreened when trying to boot an OS installed from another system.

That being said, are you sure the installation froze? Sometimes the installation would look like it's not moving, when it's actually still working. If even on screen animations (like the  . . . s) stop moving, then yes, it's most likely frozen. If not, let it be. Can you recall the information from the Blue Screens? Some systems can be finicky and don't play well during Windows installation when USB devices are plugged in.

Thats kind of weird... Check your drive for errors? Also it could be the motherboard. If the usb port you were using to install windows were to disconnect for a bit that might cause everything to hitch up.

Also, because you installed on different hardware, Make sure to get the right drivers and do windows updates as that will pull some in as well.
