Hey all, i'm speccing out a new build that will be for photo/video editing.

Is there any advantage to running multiple M.2 NVME SSD drives over just running one?

The large drives have faster speeds, so I'm considering just getting a single 1TB Samsung 960 EVO.

The other option is to get one 250gb as a boot drive, and a second one at 500gb for working photo/video files.  But is there any advantage to doing so over the single option.

Better to get a single drive and partition it out as needed unless you're going to remove the M.2 to move the drive elsewhere.

Welcome to the Forums!

Unless you need the fast data transfers from drive to drive or do a lot of data crunching, there isn't really a benefit. You can RAID 0 them for even more speed but at that point I don't see what could take advantage of it.
