I'm in the market for a new audio solution.

I'm coming from a razer kraken 7.1 chroma (don't buy it - muddy sound quality and extremely uncormfortable) and was looking into some options.

For headphones I was trying to choose between the Audio Technica AD700x and 900x - but I'm open to suggestions!

For the DAC - I really have no idea - I was looking into the Creativex G5 but it didn't seem to get good reviews.

I think I will want a good soundscape with surround sound (if you reccomend it)

I will also be using the DAC with a Modmic 5 to complete my audio solution.

So please help me out and leave some advice in the comments! Thanks :)

Well this is going to be a big argument, there is a 50/50 on whether cheap DACs are worth it or not. Do you want an AMP?

I suppose if the headphones need it - Because I know the beuyer HD 990 pros need an AMP - i could probably go for a $250 AUD DAC+AMP

You don't need much of an AMP for either of those, and whether or not you need a DAC is subjective. I personally believe that cheap DACs are worth it, but there are others on this forum that think that you are an idiot if you buy an DAC under $2000 and should kill yourself if you think otherwise.
