Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a GPU for my system and I wanted some opinions. What I want is something to upgrade later to a custom loop, so I would want one with a standard pcv so I can find plates easily. Currently I have a 1080p 144Hz monitor with G-Sync but I'm going to be upgrading to a 1440p 144Hz with G-Sync soon. So I was thing maybe a 1080 because of the prices, I feel like a 1070 is a waste of money. Here's my system.

For now: WAIT FOR VEGA!

No one knows how the prices will be (and if and how much they will affect the Team green prices)

Performance is rumored to be at 1080 levels, which should be a nice fit for 1440p 144Hz ;)

Vega is right around the corner! Wait a few weeks and then check Vega reviews and how prices of everything will adjust.

My suggestion for the custom loop: Get a custom designed card. For example EK makes many custom desing blocks.

Watercooling brings the benefit of more OC headroom... but with a standard PCB on many cards youre limited by the used components; or at least you will fry them qicker.

How this behaves with Vega has to be tested... but dude: WAIT a few weeks even if youre a 100% team green guy :P

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

Any idea when Vega is being released? I have been out for a couple of weeks and haven't heard the latest news yet, last I heard was that big Vega was under performing. I don't know how much longer I can wait since I'm currently without any GPU, it's not like I'm upgrading, I just don't have any Haha.

As for the watercooling. I was talking about a custom, but I thought EK and them only made blocks for reference PCB, not for custom ones.

AMD will have more information on July 30 in Siggraph 2017.

The custom ones take a few weeks more for them to produce but are well worth the little longer wait ;)

Ah okay. I've always like the FTW line.

That's a $250 difference and I don't know if it's worth it for 1440p. Maybe if I was going 4k?

The 1080 would be fine as well, though I wouldn't go lower than that.
