Thermalthrottling.

Yup, here it is with the 980 vrm cooling specifically.  You will probably see temps as low as 30-40c with one of these bad boys.  The 101/301 are very watercooling oriented so putting you gpu on an aio will give you the best performance by far.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0156R6VPY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1501345845&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=arctic%2Bgpu%2Bcooler&dpPl=1&dpID=41MV6%2BoJAHL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1

So, i moved my pc to the in win 101 case. In my old case a had a fan blowing directly fron the side to the gpu. Thermals were fine, between 70-84 while gaming.

In my new case, the in win 101. I have too 120mm fans directly under it blowing to the card.

I get thermalthrottling while playing and my gpu is reachin 91C.

I have just changed the thermal paste. Do you guys have any suggestions ?

Its a GTX 980 Zotac amp edition with 2 fans on the cooler.

give us a diagram of your case and where fans are and how their are positioned for flow.

Also, judging by the case design, there is little to no air flow in the from the front. Even with the 2 bottom fans, you have very little air flow so it just continually cycles the same air through and will eventually cause what you are experiencing. Also, if you are air cooling your CPU, you will be getting that air as well.

This case looks horrible for air cooling, looks like its aimed at water cooling than air cooling

But the case looks soo good :D I have a 120mm watercooling from coolermaster for the cpu, the cpu never goes higher than 70c while overclocked at 4.4 and 1.3v.

I have 2 intakes on the bottom (both 120mm) and one 120m intake from the front (wich is the side) and the air out goes from the watercooling for the cpu and a fan from the psu also blows air out.

Im going to buy a 240mm radiator for the cpu wich should help the airflow ?

Should i use the fans at the bottom for outtake ?

ideally you would want intake at the front pushing air through the case and exhaust it out the back. A way you can test if this is in the problem is to remove the side TG panel and see if temps drop. If so, then this is undoubtedly the problem.

But the case is designed to have air come in from the bottom and exhaust at the front/side. The dustfitler is on the bottom.

I realize that.. its a weird setup for air flow.

It doesnt seem to help, i changed out the stock cooling with a regular 120mm fan mounted on the gpu cooler. It helped a little but it hits 91c when playing PUBG. Is the gpu broken er something ? it seems to get way too hot.

91c? Dismount the card, blow some compressed air into the cooler, and if that doesn't help, dismantle the GPU cooler and apply a fresh layer of thermal paste.

Try and reverse how you have the directions, I run intake on the front with exhaust everywhere else on my 301 and my temps were aok with a 1700 stock cooler and 1070 w accelero mono (single fan gpu cooler)

Well if that's the case the cooler isn't mounted properly. A GPU with two fans of its own getting fresh air forced into it by another pair of fans with fresh paste should not hit a thermal wall at 91 ºc.

Hey hey hey, before you went out and spent money on that thing, did you actually check if the cooler currently mounted is actually mounted properly? As I said before:

You should see if your remount of the cooler was done properly because I'm pretty sure it wasn't going off the evidence here.

Like i said, ive just changed the thermalpaste. And i know how to mount a gpu cooler.

Seems like if i want this slick looking case ill have to change out the "stock" cooler on the gpu. I have to have the side panel open and another 120mm fan blowing directly on the gpu.

Well, you said you have two fans pushing air into the stock cooler. If that's the case then there's absolutely no way it will go to 91 ºc at all unless you also have a heat gun blowing at the GPU. Anything can hamper a proper mount, no matter how good you are at it. To be sure, open the side panel and have fresh air blown onto the card. If it still throttles then it isn't making contact with the cooler. If it doesn't throttle you do have a case of a restricted case and only then would a 3rd party cooler make sense.

Yeah, i have the case open now, with a 120mm fan blowing directly at it. Its stable around 75C now. I ordered the 3rd party cooler, and ill just have to keep it that way til i install the 3rd party cooler.
